* Someone I met by chance – twice, in places 260 miles apart – reached out to me again nearly fifteen years after the end of the trip. He’d moved from North Carolina to Connecticut, heard me on the radio, and we reconnected on Easter Sunday, 1996. Not only did he become such a good friend that he’s the godfather to my younger daughter, but he also created the video on the homepage.
